Born in 1956, too late to fully enjoy the advantages of consumerism, too early to be a true ecologist, but still in time to see a better Italy than this. Secondary school specialized in classical studies, Architecture Degree at Milan’s Politecnico, and Design Degree at IED – the European Design Institute, in Milan. In 1986 he opens the office in Milan, in 1994 he is the co-founder, together with Architect Marco D’Auria, of Italy’s first research centre for experimental projects in the hospitality sector. In 2008 he opens his own studio in Xiamen, Cina. Since 1998 he has been working in a continuous and successful way with Taiwan and China, that means without any serious damage anyway. Massimo Mussapi’s work includes and integrates industrial design, architecture and graphic design, with specific focus and skills in the hospitality sector. His products are displayed as public space furniture in exhibition spaces like Louvre Museum, Museo Teatrale alla Scala and Contemporary Art Pavilion in Milan. He has realized projects in all the 6 continents, Antarctic included (Enea Italian Scientific Research Base). Member of the Chamber of Architects of Milan since 1986. ADI “Association for Industrial Design” associate since 2002. Adviser XIDA, Xiamen Industrial Design Association. Professor at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, in the “Design for hospitality” course. Lecturer at POLIdesign. Lecturer at Lantao Culture of Beijing. Member of the project “Contract Made in Italy” by ICE.
