Good Thing Releases Furniture, Lighting & Rugs
14/07/2017 - At long last, Good Thing has expanded its product line to include furniture, lighting and rugs.

To bring the collection to life, designers MSDS, Chen Chen & Kai WIlliams, Visibility, Sam Anderson and Good Thing’s founder, Jamie Wolfond, have each contributed a design for one object. Each designer engaged with a different material and process, including blown glass, cast terracotta, woven wool, solid ash, and spun aluminum. The resulting collection exhibits both contrast and balance. This set of offerings reaffirms Good Thing’s position as America’s leading manufacturer of objects that are both well designed and accessible.

6063 Stool desing by MSDS

The 6063 Stool owes its name to the pure aluminum alloy from which it is made. Designed to echo the spirit of mid-century American manufacturing, the 6063 Stool combines a sophisticated contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship to make something entirely unique.

Cabin Pendant design by Visibility

The Cabin Pendant takes its name from the cabin of a space shuttle, to which it owes its geometric form. The Cabin Pendant offers two different qualities of light. Diffuse light emanates from the frosted body of the lamp, while the opening on the bottom casts a focused beam.

Arid Umbrella Stand design by Jamie Wolfond

The Arid Umbrella Stand takes advantage of the inherent properties of terracotta clay. The material is naturally absorbent, wicking moisture away from umbrellas inside the container.

Pearl Tables design by Chen Chen & Kai Williams

The Pearl Tables transform an often overlooked construction element into a celebrated detail. Holes containing the table’s structural fasteners are capped with the opalescent shell of a common sea snail. The Pearl Tables are available in three sizes and can be easily combined to create a variety of landscapes.

Falling Line Rugs design by Sam Anderson

Designed in the spirit of the Bauhaus movement, this series of hand-woven rugs is a stage for color experimentation. The Falling Line Rugs provide not only a pleasant presence of hue, but a look at the dynamic and emotive potential of a color scheme.
