11/05/2017 - Is it possible to recover old buildings, factories or apartments preserving their existing surfaces without dismantling them? The answer is yes. The solution is offered by Kerakoll Design House. The project, developed by Piero Lissoni, who also takes part in it as art director – comes from the home experience by Kerakoll, which wanted to offer project engineers a further and more complete interior design solution.

Microresina®, a new, revolutionary and state-of the-art micro covering, forms part of Kerakoll Design House, a collection of technological materials devised to redesign rooms and spaces. Elastic, flexible and ultra thin, it is able to emphasize the materiality of the existing surfaces into which it is applied, enhancing patterns, textures, hues and marbling with elegant decorative effects.

'Kerakoll Design House is an integrated project featuring innovative materials – cement, resin, handcrafted wood, micro-coatings, paints and glazes – coordinated in a single colour palette. A new style of interior design, where the environments and walls merge into each other: materials, textures and colours blend together. Floors and coatings, walls, fixtures, furnishing accessories, lighting and heating fixtures all become a single seamless surface.' Gian Luca Sghedoni, CEO Kerakol

It can be used on ceramic tiles, wood, stone, terracotta, stone tiling, concrete, brick and glass mosaic, is easy to apply and guarantees impressive results. Together with the oily paste for walls and ceilings Paint®, and the water-based finish Decor®, perfect for doors and windows, lights and radiators, Microresina® enables interventions to be carried out on surfaces without any demolition or rebuilding.
It decorates and protects the existing floorings and joints, transforming them into continuous surfaces that are completely non absorbent, it can be used in many places: bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms and night areas. It is also an innovative and efficient solution for contract in the design of commercial premises, accommodation facilities, studios and offices.

'Formal coherence and rigour, for an idea of home in which every surface and architectural element help to define the enviroment and the overall project.'
