18/05/2017 - Sensationally thin! The Thinsation from Gres Steuler is a real lightweight at just 6 mm thick. Nevertheless, the porcelain stoneware newcomer does not compromise on quality and resilience. “Thin, light and flexible – these are huge benefits when laying these tiles”, explains Director of Development, Tomas Deinböck, “and of course they are still absolutely strong and robust.”

The Continua Plus production system makes this slim material thickness possible – which also conceals another key feature: these tiles are equally suitable for use on the wall and on the floor. “Thanks to their light weight, laying the tiles on the wall especially is so much easier,” according to Deinböck.

It is not just the technical characteristics of the “Thinsation” that are so modern. “The surfaces are puristic, the range of colours neutral”, considers Deinböck, “the ‘Linea’ pattern with its various casual shadings also fits in well, and is easy to appreciate.” The base tile goes for size with its 60 x 120 cm and 30 x 120 cm formats – but is still light enough to be handled easily by one person on their own.

The “Thinsation” provides a further design option thanks to two different surfaces – which can also be combined well. They are available in natural (R10) and rough-polished (R9). “This means we can offer a whole range of design possibilities with one series which is primarily clear and pure – and incidentally it is equally suitable for a living room or bathroom,” says Deinböck.

For anyone who likes something more extraordinary, there is another quite special decorative tile. “Biophil” is the key word – “Zoom” is the name. “Biophil means that all the patterns originate in nature,” explains Deinböck, “we have taken various structures and enlarged them hugely – zoomed in on them, if you like.” For example, you can perceive the skin of an elephant or the structure of hemp and bark. Pure naturalness – the perfect contrast to pure modernity.Thinsation from Gres Steuler
