OLIFlex S.P. Inox, a single-wall system in stainless steel AISI 316, is designed to be installed inside ducts, in old chimneys or in the cavities of new buildings. As well as removing the combustion products it is also used for discharging the vapour produced in both civil and industrial kitchens to the exterior. The UNI and EN standards on chimneys do not allow the installation of single-wall systems outside the building but only inside central heating systems and in closed areas. All flue systems belong to the Construction Products category and must display the CE mark in compliance with the Construction Products Directive 89/106/CE of 21/12/88. The single-wall systems in stainless steel are CE marked in compliance with European Standard UNI EN 1856/2 whereas the double-wall chimney systems with insulation are CE marked in compliance with UNI EN 1856/1. The connection pipes and flue pipes must also be CE marked. To be CE marked the chimneys/flue pipes/conduit pipes must undergo some very rigorous testing, such as: corrosion resistance, (V1 - V2 - V3) pressure, (N1 - P1 - H1) heat tests to determine the maximum working temperature, (T200 - T600) soot fire resistance, (G - O) and minimum distance to combustible material (xxx), this is indicated by the producer for double-wall systems. The other tests to be carried out are as follows: condensate resistance (W) and resistance to rainwater, mechanical tensile and compression tests and wind tests.

The “OLIFlex S.P. Inox” single-wall system can be installed with any type of fuel, under both positive and negative pressure. For stoves and chimneys where very high working temperatures are reached, the system must be classified “G”, that is, it must have passed the soot fire resistance test. In general, single-wall systems must not pass through wooden floors or floors made of combustible materials, even it is covered with an insulating material, if, from the external surface of the insulation there is not a distance of at least 70 mm from the combustible material. Also with double-wall systems the distance from combustible materials must be observed, but in this case, the distance must be indicated by the producer of the chimney system. For single-wall systems without insulation, the distance to be observed is three times the diameter of the conduit (for a 200 mm diameter the distance is therefore 600 mm).
