TECU® Brownished - Architects and designers seeking bespoke and refined surface finishes on TECU® Brass, can enjoy a range of differing brownished TECU® Brass finishes. KME offers TECU® Brass_burnished with either linear-ground or orbitalground texture in four shades. After grinding and burnishing, the surfaces are given a lightwax preservative finish. All these surfaces are very well-suited to creating impressive and refined interiors.

Perforations offer a wide range of possibilities for distinctive designs using TECU® materials. Different levels of transparency can be created, ranging from the almost completely transparent to the subtly translucent. The effect created by backlit façades can be precisely managed by the use of different TECU® materials combined with a range of perforation patterns. Moreover, the possibilities for using perforated copper cladding as a decorative element in interiors are practically unlimited. Perforations in copper inspire architects and planners to new creative works, for new visions in surface design and innovative applications of the versatile TECU® products. The perforation of the TECU® surfaces takes place after the strips of copper and copper alloys are produced, by means of stamping. The blanked-out pieces are fed directly back into the recycling process. The stamping process does not in any way affect the tried and tested qualities of TECU® products; they remain easy to work, long-lasting and economical.

The material is first perforated and then stretched to create a copper rib mesh – a metal curtain with functional aesthetic qualities. The many different textile-like structures of the TECU®_mesh surfaces provide openness and create a solid barrier, offering both transparency and mechanical protection. 
TECU®_mesh surfaces in rib mesh design – for individual and characteristic impressions of light and space. After the copper and copper alloys strips have been produced the TECU®_mesh structures are created by perforating and then stretching the material. The rib mesh created in this way is also expanded in the direction of the material thickness due to the effect of the tensile force. TECU®_mesh is available in various TECU® surfaces and some individually modifiable parameters. Copper net screens have a cloth-like structure and provide strength and openness in equal measure – the mechanical protection of an open metal screen plus the translucency of a semi-transparent veil. The use of TECU®
 as a rib mesh gives building façades an appealing lightness, the mesh appearing to float in front of the structure. On glass surfaces the products offer a combination of security and aesthetic value, producing fascinating impressions from inside and out. The various TECU® surfaces in the form of rib meshes create highly individual and characteristic effects of light and space. The mesh structures of the TECU® surfaces are created, after the strips of copper and copper alloys are produced, by means of multicut perforation and subsequent stretching of the material. The metal mesh created in this way is also distended in terms of the thickness of the material by the tractive forces. Subsequent rolling of the stretched metal produces the almost flat rib mesh.

Like the TECU®_mesh structures the TECU®_flatmesh designs are also made by perforating the copper and copper alloy strips and then stretching the material. The stretched metal is then rolled to produce the almost flat TECU®_flatmesh surface. The rib mesh variants are available in the surfaces TECU® Classic_flatmesh and TECU® Patina_flatmesh. The even structures of the flat rolled rib mesh of TECU®_flatmesh offer openness and solidity, the mechanical protection of an open metal skin and the porosity of a semi-transparent curtain. On the building the use of TECU®_flatmesh brings a pleasant lightness to the façade with the mesh structure seeming to float in front of the background. When installed in front of glass areas TECU®_flatmesh products offer security in an aesthetic form as well as fascinating impressions from inside and outside. Amorphous structures, wave-like forms, organic three-dimensional patterns, spherical shapes made from copper – the TECU® materials can now be taken into the third dimension. For buildings, this means livelier, more distinctive façades that stand out and make a strong impression.The natural copper surfaces, whose visual qualities constantly change and develop over time with exposure to the elements, also create different effects depending on the time of day and the alternation of light and shade. The visual impact of changes taking place over the longer term are also new. Copper’s natural oxidisation process on the slope of the surface, so the colour of the three-dimensional surfaces will develop differently in each situation. Making TECU® surfaces three-dimensional offers many new, unexpected, exciting possibilities for copper façades. The three-dimensional shapes of the TECU® surfaces are formed after the strips of copper and copper alloys are produced, by means of hammering, moulding and hydroforming. These machining procedures do not affect in any way the proven qualities of TECU® products: they remain easy to work, long-lasting and economical.
