Kalashnikov machine gun lies near a pile of books in Kabul on February 22, 2002. Ministries and businesses were closed on Friday in Afghanistan because of the Eid Al-Adha Festival which is being marked across the Muslim world in the coming three days. The streets of Kabul were largely deserted as families were reunited for the celebration. The festival marks the end of the annual Haj pilgrimage.
