"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - W. Shakespeare “Hamlet”

If these images are indeed held together by a thread, that thread is undoubtedly the way in which light and shadow play to unveil what actually lies before our eyes, but which we fail to see because we are engaged in activities that force us to see rather than look. Because looking implies stopping, pausing amidst all the rush to let our gaze, our attention and sensitività,to rest on those things we've seen thousands of times but have never looked at deeply, at their true essence. Because beauty can be found everywhere, if only we would stop a moment to observe.

Which, in turn, also means stopping to observe ourselves a bit. And so, to discover once again that ability to be surprised by the shifting clouds, a pile of trash, looking at a swing in the distance or water flowing; always the same and yet always different. At times one can stop and hold these feelings forever. And they become photographs.
