Kumagai and Neves found their inspiration in the most mesmerizing of symbols: the circle. The circle is a cocoon, a cosy nest, a place of endless possibilities.
Their initial wish was to work with plywood, so as to explore its malleability – plywood can be curved and bent! As a starting point for their creative dialogue, they cut out a large circle in a piece of paper and then played with its suppleness, they arched and folded it and observed it from all angles.
Thus took shape this gracefully lithe seat, which makes you believe that wood could actually melt.
Then came the realm of possible configurations: a small stool can grow, a wooden seat can change its tune and be moulded in metal - it’s up to you. You can mix materials, you can vary the colours, the malleability of this piece stems also from its capacity to transform itself, without ever losing the mesmerizing appeal dictated by those beautiful curves. Give way to temptation…
