Building automation system for lighting control
Hybrid dimming capable products can be dimmed both on current reduction dimming (higher dimming range), and on Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming (lower dimming range).
Current reduction dimming is a very efficient dimming technique for products dimmed only on higher range, e.g. 20% – 100%. On lower range, the current reduction dimming can have a negative impact on the light quality, causing e.g. uneven light output, or colour temperature variation.
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming provides the best light quality from 1% to 20% dimming range. With our latest products, the dimming range from 10% to 20% performs on 8 kHz, and the dimming range from 1% to 20% on 1 kHz - 8 kHz, accordingly.
