The stool – a forgotten distant cousin of the chair?
Ah, but often the distant relatives are the ones that end up standing out with their spirit and originality, they’ll do anything to get noticed!
Fabien Masnada approached this design with the idea that this stool should find its place easily and practically in a small area, without cramping the space, but with an assertive presence. He rethought the structure and shape, injecting it with a practical dimension: the space beneath the seat is protected and partly enclosed, offering the possibility to slip a bag or a pile of magazines within.
This framework was the starting point for Masnada’s original and aesthetic vision for this piece.
The curves appeared, the roundness of the seat flowed down into a smooth and assertive structure, designed to reveal either the full beauty of the wood (oak or walnut) or the contemporary feel of the metal.
The seat, plump and colourful, crowns the stool with gusto.
