(1997)
Images of Women- Considered a pioneer in photography, Peter Lindeberg introduced a form of new realism by redefining the standards of beauty with timeless images. His humanist approach and idealization of women sets him apart from the other photographers as he privileges the soul and the personality. Lindeberg´s work has been synonymous with a certain feeling, a palpable tenderness in the manner in which he treats his subjects, not as “girls”  or as clothes hangers or as another object in the frame, but as women, with all of the inner life and mystery that the word implies.
There is an undeniable personal nature to Lindbergh’s photography—his focus on the eyes of his subjects, on their energy, the way in which women blossom under his lens—that reaches for a kind of beauty that exists beyond the surface. This print comes along the artist book "Images of Women" that comprehends a collection of the most important photographs of women he has taken.
