Single-phase Inverter for photovoltaic system
An upgrade to the proven UNO-range, the UNO-DM-PLUS is a single-phase inverter rated from 3 to 5 kW. The product dramatically simplifies installation complexity via a self-commissioning routine that removes the manual configuration process and results in lowered installation time and costs.This major value is enabled by an integrated web server and user interface that enables remote firmware upgrades and parameter settings. Upon setup, the inverter’s wireless connectivity begins the self-commissioning process.
The connectivity package of the UNO-DM-PLUS allows for built-in smart grid capabilities such as dynamic feed-in control, which manages the energy fed into the grid, and uses SunSpec-compatible open communication protocols to ensure compliance with future grid codes and maintain off-the-shelf interoperability with other devices in the system.
“Evolving grid requirements have increased the need for self-updating, smart inverters that can adapt to the new requirements via over-the-air (OTA) software updates,” explains ABB’s Residential Product Manager PG Solar, Cesare Lancini. “This improves the product’s effective lifespan, and greatly eases the installation, operational and maintenance burden on the system installer.”
This evolution of the inverter represents ABB‘s latest step towards the Internet of Things, Services and People (IoTSP) with all service software embedded within the inverter and wirelessly accessible using any smart device or PC. This allows cost-effective and advanced monitoring, control and maintenance.
The UNO-DM-PLUS also sports a new streamlined physical design, improving device reliability through reduced component count, and contributes to a lighter and smaller inverter than its predecessors. The inverter features a dual maximum power point tracker (2 MPPT).
