Lounge Chair MUSEUM | 317 - ALIVAR ADD TO MyPRODUCTS
Armchair in chrome-plated or painted tubular steel; cushion in polyurethane foam. Hide straps.
This was an idea that Mies developed in 1932. However, it was not put into production until well after his death. It was conceived as an alternative to the traditional wooden deck chair. The upper cross piece could be hooked on the ocean liner's deck railing. Mies also did drawings showing the frame suspended by a cord from a tree and from a hook in the ceiling. The curved base is one of the solutions presents in his drawings of the period.
