In tropical solid wood Wogg has found another material that can be worked with in very small dimensions. The first products from the Wogg Woods series will be presented at the furniture fair in Milan in 2006. The wood is acquired from the manufacturer "Precious Woods", which operates a sustainable, ecological and socially responsible forestry business in Central America and Brazil. Certification by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), which is supported by the WWF
, provides an additional guarantee and increased confidence. Wogg has decided in favour of Muirapiranga wood, also known as Satiné. Decisive was the high Brinell hardness of 49 (to compare: ash 37, beech 34, European maple 27) and the minor swelling/shrinkage in the tangential direction. These two properties are obligatory for the processing of small dimensions. Frédéric Dedelley is a Swiss product designer. He has international experience and has
excelled in furniture, interior and display design. He has designed a screen for Wogg. The screen Wogg 39 impresses with its minimal profiles and the reflection that is evocated by the working of the facets. The elements are connected through an ingenious joint technique. This results in a vertical plane that transports marvellously the liveliness and warmth of the wood. The screen is a product that is made solely out of wood and applying modernest chiping technique.
