Giers: "Originally there was the word: Ellip-tisch. A bent brain transformation: At a table we can view round items only as ellipses. In this case a load bearing cone penetrates a transparent and round table top. A light source, which is activated or deactivated by touching the top of the cone, lets the edge of the table shine. The light source also shines from below on the translucent cone. Limited Edition: 1 piece .Some adjectives in the German language have the ending "-tisch" equivalent to "-tic" in the English language. The artist took his inspiration from German adjectives with this ending, which as a noun "Tisch" is the German word for "table". This play on words can be explained but, unfortunately, not be translated.Just one example: "op-tisch" could be read as "optic table".
