MIXTE | Storage wall
Sectional custom storage wall
As a counterpoint to the range of modular furniture launched in 2011, and in view of the success of the sideboard, Mauro Lipparini decided to further develop Mixte’s aesthetic approach whilst bringing liberation from the constraints of a modular range. If the original spirit of Mixte remains, every possible liberty has been taken in terms of volumes, the design of the base or even finishes. Mixte’s compatibility in terms of lacquers remains, whilst the type of veneer chosen for this range of stand-alone pieces is oak (both sawn-effect and smooth), which in turn brings a possible compatibility with the Et cetera range. Free associations of finishes within a single piece makes numerous combinations possible. Aesthetically, the range is distinguished by its original style of construction: the sides slightly overhang the upper and lower tops, whilst the doors – or drawers – feature a return at the top which covers the top of the unit and serves as a handhold. These broken, staircase-style lines evoke – very – discreetly the Memphis style of the early 1980s. The bases of the sideboards and occasional units are in a new arch-shaped flat steel design which accentuates their lightness and dynamism. This high base (24 cm), with its assured style, raises the chests to a greater height than the base (height 11 cm) of the sideboard in the modular range.
MIXTE - Storage system offering the highest possible degree of flexibility : superposition, juxtaposition, suspension, free associations of materials and colours : lati sable or lati cendré veneer, white, mastic, argile or elephant lacquer, plain or printed glass, aluminium...Faced with the blank page of his wall, the client may, with the help of his sales advisor, give his creativity free rein to create his own original Mixte composition, unique in terms of both its composition of volumes and its association of materials and colours : shelving, a multimedia unit, sliding panels, storage, sideboards, wall panels, suspended chests, podiums...more than just a piece of furniture, his personalised composition will be almost a ‘work of art to live with’.
