The sonic logging is a method of analysis used for foundation piles of buildings or infrastructures which, through ultrasounds, allows to carry out an accurate and qualitative high resolution inspection. The method of sonic logging is necessarily used when the pole to be investigated has not been instrumented during the casting phase with the three tubes (as usual), but only with one survey tube. In this case, in order to  carry out the survey,  only the combined probe for sonic drilling can be used. Thanks to both TX (transmitting) and SX (receiving) components installed on the same cable at one meter-distance and with an appropriate shielding between them (avoiding any interference due to the proximity of the two TX and RX probes), it allows to achieve qualitative investigations of the material investigated nearby the survey bore. The sonic logging probe is installed on a motorized reel with 60 mt. cable, which allows the motorized movement of the probe. The sonic logging probe is also equipped with an encoder to be positioned on the head of the survey tube, in order to accurately measure the height at which the probe is located during  the survey. The movement of the probe is controlled in automatic mode by A3000U and A6000U instruments and both if it goes up or down.
