Teak serving bowl
The sculptural FJ Bowl is the smallest of the sought-after teakwood bowl series Finn Juhl designed in 1951. It features the characteristic blend of organic shapes and a carefully wrought balance between wood, form and colour that made Finn Juhl famous. Striving to make materials appear at their most natural, Juhl strikes a fragile equilibrium by contrasting the organic texture of the teakwood with an elliptical undulating rim. The simplicity of natural wood is juxtaposed with geometric complexity, creating the kind of aesthetic harmony Finn Juhl aspired to when designing for the interior. The FJ Bowl is hand made from a single piece of teakwood and treated with clear teak oil. The choice of this material ensures that a beautiful patina will form as it ages, giving the bowl an extra kick of character.
