Porcelain stoneware outdoor floor tiles

Porcelain stoneware

Ceramiche Caesar presents Aextra30, the innovative range of porcelain tiles for outdoor application in 30mm thickness. Perfect for public spaces and residential venues, Aextra30 products have an anti-slip surface finish and, in terms of size, weight, thickness and ease of installation, are in line with other materials used for outdoor flooring such as stone, cement and wood.
In contrast to these materials, Aextra30 is able to offer better performance in terms of resistance to loads, absorption, durability over time, easy maintenance as well as the sought-after aesthetics and design that are typical of made in Italy porcelain ceramic tiles.

Further details
In public spaces, Aextra30 slabs can be used to create forecourts and rest areas that perfectly integrate with urban design projects.
Porcelain tile slabs in 30 mm thickness feature a high resistance to foot-tread, wear and adverse weather conditions. Therefore, Aextra30 is suitable for the flooring of outdoor areas subject to high footfall.
With Aextra30, it is possible to pave alleys, sidewalks and pedestrian pathways offering a perfect final result in terms of aesthetic appeal and technical performance.
Using the traditional adhesive installation onto footing, Aextra30 guarantees excellent resistance, suitable for carriageable floors in residential areas.
Aextra30 slabs can be installed, with a dry system method, onto grass, gravel or sand in residential gardens as well as parks and public spaces.
Thanks to the R11 A+B+C anti-slip coefficient, Aextra30 porcelain tiles can be used in outdoor areas in contact with water, such as swimming-pools.
Thanks to their 30mm thickness, Aextra30 porcelain tile slabs offer a series of important advantages:

1. SINGLE-PIECE Aextra30 slabs are monolithic pieces therefore they do not consist of various layers but are in fact single-pieces.
2. ECO-SUSTAINABLE Caesar ceramic products meet the eco-sustainable criteria established by important environmental certifications (Ecolabel, LEED, ISO 14001).
3. FIRE-PROOF Caesar porcelain tile slabs are classified in fire-proof Class 0.
4. FROST-PROOF the slabs do not break following periods of frost or thawing.
5. DURABLE OVER TIME porcelain tiles do not change their colour if exposed to sunlight or adverse weather conditions.
6. RESISTANT TO SALTS Aextra30 slabs are not damaged by swimming-pool salts or other salts used in winter.
7. ANTI-SLIP the slabs have an anti-slip textured finish (R11-A+B+C)
8. RESISTANT TO LOADS each slab can bear a load greater than 2000kg
9. RESISTANT TO THERMAL SHOCK Caesar porcelain tiles do not change their aspect even if exposed to extreme temperatures.
10. RESISTANT TO MOSS AND MOULDS the surface of Caesar porcelain tiles do not allow attack by plants or other herbaceous organism.

Raised installation
Traditional adhesive installation
- Outdoor pavings installed unglued above the ground level are subject to the action of the wind, with the risk, in some cases, of becoming airborne. the manufacturer recommends to require the assistance of a qualified professional in order to check the suitability of the installation system above the ground adopted, in accordance with the local laws and regulations and the conditions of use. failure to do so could result in serious injury or property damage.
- A ceramic slab installed on a raised pedestal system may fracture on impact if a heavy object is dropped onto it from a height, with a risk of injury to anyone standing or walking on such slab. failure to adhere to the manufacturer's instructions for installation of slabs on raised pedestal systems may result in serious injury.
- For further information and recommendations concerning the installation systems please refer to website or to the aextra30 catalogue.
If the application of the 20 - 30 mm slabs foresees the ceramic product used in structural installations, the project engineer and/or customer must carefully assess the project requirements with regard to the technical specifications of the slabs. To prevent the risk of damage or injury, the manufacturer recommends:

- With regard to a raised floor installation a ceramic slab may fracture on impact if a heavy object falls on it from any significant height. Therefore the manufacturer recommends to check the specific intended use before starting the installation and to follow table for raised installatio n provided below. In certain conditions, reinforcing must be applied on the back of the slabs (double glass fibre net or a galvanized steel sheet) supplied and applied by the manufacturer;

- With reference to any dry installation system of flooring above the ground level, the manufacturer recommends to comply with local regulations and conditions of use with regard to wind-load, loadbearing, seismic events, etc.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may lead to improper use of the product and could cause serious damage or injury.
Note: for any detail and technical specification concerning the double glass fibre net or the galvanised steel sheet, please contact our Caesartech department. Caesar is responsible only if it supplies the whole system (tile + double glass fibre net or galvanised steel sheet). Caesar cannot be held responsible for reinforcing systems that it has not supplied. In case of breakage, tiles must be replaced immediately.
