Giers: "Originally there was the word: Quadra-tisch. A basic cube is visible under the table top on which continuously, radially symmetric, always new light compositions appear in 16 squares. The illumination is controlled by a random-check generator. The random-check generator causes an unpredictable sequence and by this - also like in diverse other tables - a minimal optical wear." Limited Edition: 1 piece. Some adjectives in the German language have the ending "-tisch" equivalent to "-tic" in the English language. The artist took his inspiration from German adjectives with this ending, which as a noun "Tisch" is the German word for "table". This play on words can be explained but, unfortunately, not be translated.
Just one example: "op-tisch" could be read as "optic table".
