For the first time Mutina faces the color challenge with the Pico collection, in cooperation with Bouroullec brothers, proposing color variations to the basic textures by means of red and blue tiny spots, in regular and irregular shapes, positive and negative. Pico range is available in the following sizes 120x120, 60x120 and 60x60 cm; two textures complete the range, Down and Up, in Blanc, Terre and Gris colors.
The collection designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec was made with total respect for the environment and has been manufactured with Continua technology, in large and unglazed porcelain stoneware slabs of 12mm thickness. The continuous improvements made to the Continua technology used make it suitable to green buildings and represent a radical innovation of the production process. The Pico collection is part of “industrial” products range by Mutina.
As with all the Mutina collections, Pico is the result of a production process which totally eliminates V.O.C. (Volatile Organic Compounds): these volatile chemicals easily evaporate at room temperature (benzene, chloroform, ethanol, butane and formaldehyde) and prolonged exposure to them can, in closed environments, cause both acute and chronic effects for the health.
A successful project that is now being renovated and expanded with new color possibilities: the Anthracite - in the versions Up Natural, Down Natural, Anthracite Blue dots and Anthracite Red dots - takes the place of the Terre and the Up Beige.
The product style key remains the modern interpretation of traditional handmade tiles that maintaining their raw look, blend perfectly with traditional and modern contexts.
