Automatic parking systems
Linepark is an automated multi-platform parking model suitable for small/medium parking spaces: up to 20 parking spots, commonly used privately but may also be used for public parking needs. It can be built below or above ground, with access point above or below the parking levels.
Cars are parked on wheeled platforms (in green in the diagram) powered by in-floor fixed motors. Its operation is laid out in the diagrams: the driver parks his/her car (1) at the entry point. The main elevator (in orange) descends to the predetermined level and the secondary elevator (in brown) simultaneously aligns itself to the same level. The motors move all the platforms by one position, transferring the car (1) onto the parking slab and moving to occupy the secondary elevator with a free or occupied platform. When a driver wishes to retrieve his/her car (2), the two elevators align themselves with the level containing the car to be retrieved, the platforms move by one position, and the car (2) is transferred into the exit point by the main elevator, where the driver may get into the car and exit the parking lot. If the car (2) is not near the main elevator, the system automatically repeats the platform and elevator movement phases until the desired car is aboard the main elevator.
This parking system may be supplemented with equipment that rotates the car, allowing for entry and exit without reversing. The entrance/exit point may be constructed in the traditional manner – within a room in the building – or on the exterior with a retractable roof, which, when closed, restores the flatness of the external surface.
The platform technology allows for the customization of the parking space, permitting the parking of other vehicles (motorcycles, bicycles, etc.) with the addition of suitable installations.
