5 Portable humidifiers

When winter comes we turn on the heating system a lot. This makes us feel comfortable from a general wellbeing point of view. But we must not forget to give the air the right humidity grade. Dry air might cause allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases in the long run. For this reason, especially if you have children or elderly people at home, you should get humidifiers. The classical humidifier is the little earthware piece on the radiator. This one, though, always needs to be filled up with water and it doesn’t grant the right humidity grade. It isn’t adjustable according to our needs and so it’s really inefficient. The small portable humidifiers are very efficient. They’re small appliances that make vapor and ensure the right grade of humidity. There are two kinds of humidifiers: the warm vapor ones and the cold vapor ones. Let’s have a look at both of them.
In the warm vapor ones, vapor is produced by boiling water. They are quite noisy and might be covered with limescale after a while so they need maintenance. Their con is that they have a higher power consumption and their pro is they make us perceive the temperature of the room as higher so it is ideal in cold rooms.
Cold vapor ones, instead, produce vapor by ultrasound waves that hit the water in the tank thus creating micro particles of cold vapor. This model is more expensive but its power consumption is much lower. It works silently and it is safer if you have kids at home because they won’t run the risk of touching hot surfaces or touch the hot vapor jet.
The best models have also chromotherapy and aromatherapy functions, soft lights and delicate essences for your comfort and relax. ... More ... less
