Imm Cologne 2018: the Das Haus by Lucie Koldova
22/01/2018 - The creative talent that this year has been selected to tell the 'ideal home' at imm cologne is Lucie Koldova.

Coming from the Czech Republic, in the latest years the designer has lived between Paris and Prague and has worked at Arik Levy’s office. Today she is the art director of the Brokis group, a Czech brand specialised in lighting projects combining high technology and the ability of the Czech glass-maker masters.

As every year the core, throbbing with life, of the German exhibition is the Das Haus. And, as every year, a creative and internationally known talent tells his/her own 'ideal home'.

After Neri&HuSebastian HerknerLouise Campbell and Todd Bracher, now it’s the turn of Lucie Koldova. Coming from the Czech Republic, in the latest years the designer has lived between Paris and Prague and has worked at Arik Levy’s office. Today she is the art director of the Brokis group, a Czech brand specialised in lighting projects combining high technology and the ability of the Czech glass-maker masters.

Fascinated by the magic of glass and the energy of light, Lucie Koldova has chosen to call her Das Haus'Light Levels'. Here light is the absolute protagonist in all its versions, shapes and atmospheres.
We were also at Imm Cologne and Lucie Koldova told us that it is light that designs the different rooms composing the Das Haus:'Light Levels proposes an idea of living seen from a different perspective, by controlling light, which varies as the 5 rooms vary. The central and biggest room hosts a sort of symbolic 'fire' interpreting the concept of warmth. Then the room dedicated to the relaxation of body and mind; the room to 'give light to ideas', that is the most lighted of all; then there is the dressing room, that crosses the borders between fashion, art and design, and, at last, the room dedicated to the spirit, with a comfortable circular sofa'.

'As art director of the Brokis group,- Koldova explained –I wanted to present some of the projects I am currently working on as well as some of the products that inspired the concept of the single rooms. Among them the brand new Ivy collection, which gave rise to the relaxation room. Apart from these projects there are the collections I designed for other brands I am pleased to cooperate with, such as Prostoria, Ton and Fabbian'.

'I am very happy of the cooperation with the team of Imm Cologne, because our job turned to be a mutual exchange and support. Light allows to create an endless variety of plays and effects and this is the reason why it has always fascinated me. I am really thankful for the opportunity to face such a challenge, which brought to the realization of a house 'connected with light', exactly matching the idea I had in my mind'.

The only missing room was the kitchen, that gives up its place to relaxation, meditation, warmth and feelings.Imm Cologne 2018: the Das Haus by Lucie Koldova
