Altek Italia Design is an Italian manufacturing company dedicated to the study and creation of innovative, original and
designer furniture, based in Zanè, in the province of Vicenza, in northern Italy. The company was founded in 2009, but the ALTEK brand originated in 1987 and reflects the legacy of four generations, engaged since 1920 in the
production of seating and other furnishings. Passionate study and dedication to the development of Italian design products have been the reason for Altek Italia Design's success. The high reputation acquired in the international arena has led the company to collaborate with more than forty countries around the world. Production does not exist without a specific procedure, the result of experience lovingly handed down from generation to generation in the unique workshops of artisans, which is transformed into a complex and technological organization. The product itself and the services offered are the result of an ongoing dialogue between Altek and architects and designers who experience every day what it means to live and work in environments that must be practical as well as pleasant, while also representing an efficient investment. The desire is to offer products in which creativity and design are free expressions, thanks to that unique feeling and manufacturing experience gained through decades of work. Altek has set up a studio to provide full-service custom interior design for commercial and residential clients.

Altek, design icons and international awards
In the long and fascinating history of the Altek brand there have been numerous international awards. In more than a century of existence, Altek boasts the production of more than a thousand models. Furniture complements designed to withstand the passage of time and fashion. Some of Altek's collections have received worldwide recognition and have become iconic pieces in design history. In the 1990s, the collaboration with Italian architect
Sergio Mian led to the
Baba chair (covered by Copyright since 1992), which was officially presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in 1993 and in 1994 along with the
Baba stool. The stool became a true icon in the United States thanks to Clint Eastwood, who used it as the centerpiece for his speech on stage at the Republican convention in Tampa in 2012. In 2004, Altek won the prestigious Good Design Award in the United States from the Chicago Athenaeum for the
Vertigo collection, designed by
Florin Baeriswyl, which draws on Altek's extensive experience in tube bending. Since 2018, the
AirWave modular seating collection, designed for the contract market and designed by
Charles Godbout, founder of Topo Design has distinguished itself on the international scene, twice being a finalist at Mixology North, winning the Grands Prix du Design in 2019, a finalist for the Architizer A + Product Awards in 2021, and a Good Design Award winner in 2022.
