Corsi Design was born in 2003 after a fortunate encounter between design and craftsmanship, when the designer Gaetano Pesce entrusted the craftsman Andrea Corsi with the creation of a new range of resin products, including
home decorations,
tableware and
jewellery. Corsi begins to experiment with the material, trying to tame its floating character, paying meticulous attention to detail, improving the different models and creating a real line of products. Years of experience, trial and error, insights and discoveries have led to today's outstanding results. A series of collections in constant evolution, mainly thanks to the collaboration with internationally renowned designers and to the mastery of the craftsman himself.
Corsi Design and the resin, between technique and material experimentation
In the mid-90’s Gaetano Pesce had the intuition to use the resin, an industrial material, to create art and design pieces. Subsequently Andrea Corsi, improving the techniques and carefully studying the material’s properties, has reached the unique quality which distinguishes all the collections manufactured by Corsi Design. There are a number of techniques and a variety of resins used according to the different pieces to produce. The use of moulds, coloured pigments, spatula strokes, mixing, pouring, extruding, reach the culmination in the purest gestures, like sculptors, using the resin as if it was clay.
Working every day with a material which doesn’t have a history, allows to observe the results, the mistakes, the coincidences and that awareness, combined with the artisan’s expert hands, helps to create every time something magical and extraordinary. Our biggest wish is to keep designing and creating beautiful objects, never seen before and to be able to work with international designers and professionals who share the same vision and passion.
