Matteo Nunziati was born in Bologna in 1972 and trained in Milan attending the Sacred Heart Foundation art high school and later the Brera Academy of Fine Arts where he graduated in 1995. In the Lombard capital he opened his own studio in 2000 devoting himself to interior architecture and design. He specializes in luxury interior design, creating hotels, wellness centers, residential and commercial spaces. His works embody the idea of made in Italy and high quality and are present, in addition to Italy, in many countries: the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India, Maldives, China and the United States of America. There are several brands he works with, among them: Bonaldo, Coro, Ento, Fiam, Florim, Flou, Fontana Arte, the 4 Mariani, Kreoo, La Murrina, Lema, Listone Giordano, Lualdi Porte, Molteni & C., Natevo, Pacini & Cappellini, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Rapsel, Tonon, Turri, as well as serving as Art Director for Rubelli Casa.
Significant is his collaboration with the Trump Organization, a world leader in the real estate sector, which commissions him to design many of its headquarters, starting with the Trump Towers in Pune, India (2017), with which he also won the NDTV Property Awards; followed by the renovation of the Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida (2018-2022) and the Trump Towers in New Delhi and Kolkata, India (2018). Also notable are the Radisson Blu Residence in Dubai Marina, the Radisson Blu Hotel Apartments at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, the Aston Martin Residence in Miami, the large 5-star hotel in Doha the Freser Suites West Bay (more than fifty stories high and awarded the World Travel Award in 2017), the Mandarin Oriental luxury hotel and restaurant (2019), and again the Oryx Tower (2021), a twenty-two-story luxury residential building, and the business class lounge project at Hamad International Airport. In the field of residential design, he designs and realizes numerous interventions, including the penthouse of the Bosco Verticale in Milan, with which he also won the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) 2018 Award for International Excellence, and the penthouse in New York City inside the 432 Park Avenue skyscraper, which is considered one of the tallest and most prestigious residential buildings in the world.
Since 2004 he has been teaching mainly in collaboration with Domus Academy and some universities and institutes such as National Tapei University of Technology, IDI - Interior Design Institute in Milan and Tshinghua University Shenzhen in China. He is also a speaker at numerous international conferences, and in 2006 he was selected among the most influential designers in international design from 1954 to 2006 at the "50+2y Italian Design" exhibition at the National Art Museum of China. He was also considered among the top 100 International Architect/Interior and product designers in the publication "Icon Architects 2018." There are many international awards he has received during his 20-year career, both in the fields of architecture and design. In addition to the awards already mentioned, they include: the Good Design Award Chicago 2011; the Wallpaper Design Award 2011; the Reddot Design Award 2012; the Cityscape Award 2013; the Elle Deco International Design Awards 2020 with Rubelli Casa; the London Design Award 2019; the IDA Design Award; and the ADA Archiproducts Design Awards in 2020 and 2021.
