Piero Lissoni, born in Seregno in 1956, is a renowned Italian architect and designer and one of the main protagonists of international contemporary design. After graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1985, he founded the Lissoni Associati studio with Nicoletta Canesi the following year. Divided into different areas of intervention, the firm includes Lissoni Casal Ribeiro, which specializes in master plans, landscape design and architecture; Lissoni Associati, which is dedicated to interior projects and installations; Lissoni Design, the section devoted to product design and artistic directions for various brands; and Lissoni Graphx, which specializes in graphic design, visual communication and brand identity. Lissoni Architecture New York, on the other hand, develops architecture and interior design projects in the Americas.
Throughout his career, Piero Lissoni has dedicated himself to a wide range of projects spanning architecture, interior and product design. He is currently art director of Alpi, Boffi, Living Divani, Lualdi, Porro, and Sanlorenzo, but in the past he has been art director for other companies as well. He collaborates with a number of international brands, including Alessi, Atlas Concorde, B&B Italia, Bonacina1889, Cappellini, Cassina, De Padova, Fantini, Fendi Casa, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Glas Italia, Golran, illycaffè, Kartell, Knoll, Lema, Nerosicilia, Olivari, RBM MORE, Roda, Salvatori, Tecno, and Viccarbe.
His design approach, based on attention to detail and elegance, is reflected in iconic works such as the numerous kitchens designed for Boffi, or the Eda-mame armchair/sofa for B&B Italia, or even the Ferro table for the Porro brand, the Extrasoft sofa for Living Divani, and the Piuma chair for Kartell.
His major architectural achievements include the Headquarters of the Presidency of Banca Ifis in Rome (2024), AP House by Audemars Piguet in Milan (2024), the Dorothea Hotel Autograph Collection in Budapest (2023), the exclusive area “The Haven” on the Norwegian Prima (2022), The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach (2020), Grand Park Hotel in Rovinj, Croatia (2019), the restyling of the Camparino in Galleria in Milan (2019), and the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam (2012). He has also designed yacht interiors for Sanlorenzo, as well as projects for the headquarters of companies such as Boffi, Glas Italia, Fantini, Living Divani, and the Sanlorenzo shipyards in La Spezia and Ameglia.
Recognized with prestigious awards, he has received the Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera, the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and two ADI Compasso d'Oro awards for Lualdi's L16 door and the Sanlorenzo SP110 yacht. His induction into New York's Hall of Fame of Interior Design in 2005 enshrined his global influence in the industry.
