Dick Splerenburg (1953) studied Architecture at Delft University of Technology and Interior & Product Design at the Royal Academy of Art In The Hague. He joined the Dutch manufacturer Castelljn who produced a great number of his furniture designs. Spicenburg remained with the com parry for fifteen years, in the last period as managing director. His involvement with interior design events dates back from N96. He started and managed three leading permanent interior design exhibitions In Amsterdam. NIC, Pakhuis Amsterdam and Post CS. In Germany he co-ordinated the initiative tor a design and interior showroom for international brands, Design Post and was appointed creative consultant to III Cologne. For the 2010 edition of this international interior fair, he created Hare Village. An environment with an integrated architecture for compact presentations of design exhibitors within all interior fields such as furniture, textile, lighting and bathrooms. Parallel to these activities Del! Spierenburg started KBDS wit: Dutch designer Karel Boonzaaller in 2001. They designed for Arco, Artifort, Castelljn, Geiderland, Hollands Licht, Minotti ltalia, Montis and Moroso. In 2009 Splwenburg started his own studio. He did the architectural design of offices, factories and private houses. Including two of his own.
