Marc Newson has designed the interiors of numerous restaurants, including Coast in London, Mash & Air in Manchester, Osman in Cologne, and the Lever House restaurant in New York. In addition, he designed the Syn recording studio in Tokyo and the shop concept for W<., the informal clothing brand founded by Belgian designer Walter van Bierendoncke. Newson also designed the interiors of the Falcon 900B private jet (2001), the epoxy-bonded aluminium die-cast bicycle "MN01" (for the Danish company Biomega, 1998), the 021C concept car for Ford (1997), one of the first examples of a hybrid combustion city car. He has recently designed a backpack for Louis Vuitton's Monogram collection and the 'kegerator', a home distiller with which he debuted for Heineken and Krups. He is part of Jony Ive's creative team as a designer of special projects for Apple. Newson is a university lecturer, holding a Chair in Design at Sydney College of the Arts.
