Born in 1969 in Tours, Patrick Norguet trained at the Ecole Supérieure du Design Industriel in Paris. After graduating, he designed window displays for fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and stands for Renault. These experiences launched him internationally in the interior and furniture design sector. In 1999, he founded an office in Paris and the following year, he made a name for himself with the Rainbow chair selected and produced by Giulio Cappellini. The chair quickly became a design icon, included in the permanent collection at MoMA in New York. He also designed the Rive Droite swivel armchair for Cappellini, available with Emilio Pucci upholstery. Norguet's bond with the fashion world is a constant in his career with his work for such fashion houses as Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Lanvin, Guerlain and Hermès.

Norguet has designed furniture, objects and furnishings for prestigious brands. His work is marked by stylistic unity based on attention to detail, technology and essentiality. Among his most significant designs: the Apollo armchair in 2002, followed by the Kalm, Lilla 2. 0, Little Apollo and the Manhattan sofa for the Dutch brand Artifort; the M10 chair for Cassina; the Tuile sofa and the Colander chair for Kristalia. He designed the Chesto armchair for DePadova in 2014; the Kayak chair for Alias again in 2014; the Flavia bed for Poltrona Frau; the Knit outdoor bergère seat and the Ace bench for sports contexts for Ethimo. His 2017 Fox ash chair for Pedrali won him the Muuuz International Award. He recently collaborated with Zanotta to create the Dan armchair series (2020). With Natuzzi, he designed the INU desk table, the Node acoustic partition, the Ema bed, and the Nanà chair. For Artemide, he designed the Giò light lamp and, for Glas Italia, the Float series of crystal drawer units. He created several collections of washbasins for Ceramica Flaminia, along with sanitary ware and bathroom accessories. At the same time, he produced a series of large-format ceramics for Lea Ceramiche: Lines, Waves, Pad di Take Care and Naive, which received the German Design Awards in 2017.

In 2010 he designed a McDonald's in France, which led him to collaborate with the American brand throughout the world. He opened an innovative and exclusive five-star club and hotel in Paris for the Okko hotel chain in 2017. In 2005, he was elected Designer of the Year at the Maison et Objet Now Salon in Paris and won the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris. In 2009, he was named Furniture Designer of the Year, and in 2015, he became France's Chevalier de l'Orde des Arts et des Lettres. Patrick Norguet's works are in the permanent collections of the world's most important museums.
