Piero Lissoni

Born in 1956 in Seregno in the province of Milan, Piero Lissoni is an international architect and designer active in the fields of design, architecture and graphics. He obtained his degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1985. The following year, he founded Lissoni Associati with Elisabetta Canesi. Fascinated by graphic design and art, Lissoni founded the Graphx agency in 1966, specialising in visual communications and brand identity, joined in 2013 by the Lissoni Architettura studio and the New York-based subsidiary Lissoni Inc., created in 2015.

Piero Lissoni's activity unfolds in projects ranging from interior design to brand images, museum installations, showrooms, industrial design projects and architectural complexes. His well-crafted approach and attention to detail combined with simplicity and elegance result in projects with a strong stylistic identity. In terms of industrial design, Studio Lissoni collaborates with major Italian and international brands like Alessi, Alpi, Boffi, B&B, Bonacina, Cappellini, Cassina, De Padova, Flos, Kartell, Living Divani, just to name a few. Some of his iconic products include the SuperSoft armchair; the Serie 3088 armchair; the Uni storage furniture series for Cappellini; Boffi kitchens; the Flat cabinet for Cassina; the Ile Side Tablet coffee table series; the Extrasoft sofa for Living Divani.

Among the numerous awards and recognitions received by Lissoni during his career are the ADI Compasso d'Oro for the L16 door by Lualdi; the Red Dot Award for the Piuma chair by Kartell and for the Gina Recamier Right chaise longue by Janus et Cie. He also received the Good Design Award. In 2003, the Table System designed for Boffi won the Best Kitchen Award from Elle D├ęcor International, while in 2005, Lissoni was inducted into the New York Interior Design Hall of Fame. ...
