Ramón Esteve

Valencia / Spain

Ramón Esteve was born in 1964 in Valencia and obtained a degree in Architecture in 1990 from ETSAM, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid. In 1991, he initiated his career in design, working on projects ranging from architecture to interiors, industrial design, and art direction. His work revolves around the principles of harmony, balance and essentiality - characteristics that imbue every project, from the largest and most complex (public or residential buildings) to the smallest (objects and products for the home).

In the fields of product design and art direction, Esteve collaborates with Porcelanosa, Inclass and Gandia Blasco. His partnership with Vondom has led to numerous creations like the Pixel outdoor seating family (with modular sofa, armchair, pouf and dormeuse); the Vineyard garden bed with sunshade; the Forest outdoor lamp (also in a table version); the Faz (with bar counter, armchair, planter, table, sunbed and garden sofa) and Vela collections (with planter, sofas and garden bed); the Ulm daybed outdoor sofa; and the Kimono polycarbonate garden chairs. His well-established relationship with Talenti has given light to numerous furniture items, in particular the Casilda collection consisting of a sofa, chairs, armchair, lounger and canopy bed for the garden and the Trocadero line of stackable chairs and a garden table. Collaboration with Vibia resulted in Origami wall lamps and Link ceiling lamps in four different sizes.

Ramón Esteve has received numerous awards. In 2015, he received an Honourable Mention in the Product Design category for the Faz Daybed by Vondom at the Red Dot Awards and the Best of Year 2015 award for the Ulm Daybed by Vondom, awarded by Interior Design Magazine in New York. Most recently, he received the COAV Honourable Mention in Architecture for the "Cottage in the Vineyard" project. In 2018, he was awarded the Land Rover Born Award for Bombas Gens and the International CEMEX Building Award for "Cottage in the Vineyard". That same year, his name was included in Forbes' "The Most 100 Creative People in Business" list. The Tablet Collection for Vondom received the 2018 Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The Lignage Collection for Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms triumphed in the Best Bathroom Design category at the 2019 IF Design Awards. Esteve has been a lecturer in Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Valencia since 2005 and has taught design in the Interior Design Masters Programme at CEU Cardinal Herrera University since 2012. He also holds workshops, conferences and seminars on architecture and design worldwide. ... More ... less
