Élitis is a French brand specializing in textiles, wall coverings and wall decorations. The company was born in Toulouse in 1988 from an idea of Patrice Marraud des Grottes, a visionary entrepreneur convinced that “beauty will save the world.” The brand owes its name to contemporary Greek poet Odysseas Elytīs, a leading figure in surrealism. Élitis' vison is inspired by the dreamy and irrational dimension of the poet's literary works, but to this he combines the solid certainty that comes from technological innovation. Flanked by his sisters, and today also by his three children, the founder of Élitis succeeds in the feat of maintaining a family and artisanal dimension, while at the same time developing a solid international presence. This is undoubtedly due to the technical and aesthetic quality of the proposals, which are never banal and avant-garde, the result of continuous research involving a large team of designers. Linen, treated in a thousand different ways, was the company's starting point and remains one of its staples, but new textures and original products are regularly added to the collections, anticipating trends and meeting the needs of professionals and individuals alike. Interweaving leather and rope, jersey coupled with thermoformed foam, embroidered linen, and technical fabrics for outdoor use are just some of the creations that make the Élitis catalog unique and appealing. Today, Élitis wallpapers and upholstery embellish offices, hotels, restaurants and private homes around the world. In addition to its historic headquarters in Toulouse, the brand has showrooms in New York and Berlin, and a space of more than 300 square meters in the heart of Paris, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. Here, Élitis creations are displayed as if in an art gallery, while a collection of colors and materials with more than 1,500 samples are available for architects, decorators, and private individuals to realize their projects.

In the Élitis catalog, each collection is a work of art that draws on the imagery of distant worlds and is brought to life through ancient savoir faire. Emblematic is the Cordes sensibles collection designed by artist Véronique de Soultrait, who has found rope to be the exceptional material for her creations. On the rope-effect embossed vinyl wallpaper unravel the geometric motifs in circles and waves of the Courbes pattern, inspired by Art Deco aesthetics and declined in 6 variants. Or the delicate little leaves that overlap to form a vegetal wall in the Jonchée pattern, in which the ropes manage to evoke grain and thickness. A sober elegance characterizes the Sillage pattern, with its rigorous geometry played on rhombuses and squares, while in the panoramic Terre wallpaper, the intertwining ropes let themselves go in a twirl of waves and circles in bright colors. We fly to Japan to discover the poetry of the Hanji paper wallcovering collection. The aesthetics of the Land of the Rising Sun are revealed in the rarefied gold metal markings of the Noto pattern, or the irregular squares of Nishino, or even the organic shapes of Takara. Handcrafted, the collection's upholstery flaunts a rough texture and delicate reliefs, giving the surface a textured look. For the contract sector, the Élitis catalog offers high-performance, flame-retardant and anti-bacterial technical solutions, such as the Raffia-Raffia HPC and Eldorado collections, to name a few.

Élitis textiles and fabrics: new expressions of style

The Élitis catalog also includes a fine selection of textiles and fabrics such as curtains, rugs, pillows, blankets, and linens. Solid-color velvets from the Palatine collection lend a distinctive touch to every type of upholstery, from sofas to chairs, from armchairs to beds. Soft, thick and dense, Palatine is available in a wide range of colors, from neutrals to deep reds, bright yellows and greens to sumptuous purples. The Prestige 2 collection is distinguished by subtle decorative effects and the softness of the fabric, which is suitable for upholstering and making curtains. In the Alva pattern, made of wool and cotton jacquard, irregular and abstract geometries animate the fabric in cream tone-on-tone versions, and in cream-beige and cream-brown two-tone versions. Bearing the signature of Studiopepe's designers is the indoor and outdoor fabric from the Archiutopia collection. Certified for high UV and chlorine resistance performance, fire-retardant, antibacterial and mildew-resistant, it features irregular decorative patterns in relief on a rough-looking weave. The choice of fabrics in the Baléares collection is remarkable, summing up the Mediterranean essence with its warm colors, raw materials such as jute, rope, cotton, raffia, and hand-embroidered motifs. The Finca curtain fabric features a very refined raffia pompom pattern, which animates the fabric, giving it a three-dimensional look.
