Fiemme Tremila, a Trentino company specialising in biocompatible wood flooring, wall coverings and furnishings, was founded in Predazzo in 1993 with the aim of offering a unique, natural and absolutely healthy product. In a word, biocompatible. Healthiness, durability and, last but not least, beauty are the values that have made the history of Fiemme Tremila, which has always been a promoter of living wellbeing. Fiemme Tremila is rooted in the Fiemme Valley, which is both a natural heritage and above all the origin, source of inspiration and foundation for the company's philosophy of healthy living.

Fiemme Tremila's mission: to bring the forest into the home

The biocompatible wood of Fiemme Tremila wants to transfer these benefits from nature to the interior. This is a double responsibility. Towards the environment: whereby the company only uses wood from territorial resources protected by the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme or from PEFC and FSC® certified forests, cultivated with responsible silviculture practices and management plans for the proper preservation of the world's forest heritage. And to the customer: therefore Fiemme Tremila is committed to supplying impeccable and sustainable raw material, and to preserving it throughout the entire working process, from cutting to laying, avoiding the use of any synthetic agent that could compromise its original value. Thirty years ago, the company decided to work only with products of vegetable origin, excluding all those of petrochemical origin. A difficult choice from a production point of view because production times are considerably longer, but an essential value to guarantee a healthy lifestyle.

Fiemme Tremila, the BioPlus® treatment and the Triplostrato® structure

The beneficial emission of Fiemme Tremila wood floors and their beauty, able to defy time, is guaranteed by the BioPlus® treatment, a natural oil based on waxes, vegetable resins and balsamic oils, wisely chosen and mixed, which is delicately applied to the boards, through several oiling cycles, respecting the wood's absorption time. BioPlus® allows the wood to remain alive and free to breathe, while at the same time guaranteeing excellent resistance to abrasion, wear and the absorption of liquids. Wood treated in this way does not form a rigid film, is not subject to 'peeling' over time, does not produce cracks, facilitates restoration, avoids laminating and sanding, and does not produce the so-called 'vapour barrier' that prevents the wood from breathing freely, which is essential for regulating the indoor microclimate of living spaces. Finally, the natural insulation makes cleaning extremely easy because it creates a barrier resistant to stains, wear and the effects of humidity. This is why Fiemme Tremila floors are suitable for even the most difficult environments, such as kitchens, bathrooms and spas, or those subject to the most intense wear and tear, such as showrooms, hotels and offices.
Fiemme Tremila wood planks all have a structure in Triplostrato® derived from the crossing of three layers of solid wood: the first, the 4 mm noble layer, is of the wood species chosen for the floor; the other two, the central core and the back, are in spruce, a stable and elastic wood that also satisfies the desire to use the main resource available in the Fiemme Valley area.
The central core is obtained at the origin with a special cut, which arranges the wood fibres vertically and orthogonally with respect to the grain of the first and third layers. Stability and strength arise from this contrast of forces, which naturally dampens abnormal movements.
The three layers are assembled using only vinyl glues that meet strict health criteria. The result is a Triplostrato® structure with a total thickness of 15 mm. The three layers work together to ensure dimensional stability and resistance to bending and buckling. This perfect balance allows the floating installation of the floor: carried out with only the joining of tongue-and-groove planks, it is the only one recommended by Fiemme Tremila because it is free of harmful glues.

The Fiemme Tremila collections

Five collections (to which is added the Bottega project for made-to-measure floors), 11 woods, 4 choices, 4 colouring processes and 12 processes draw a rich range of over 100 essences and as many customisation possibilities.
Fior di Fiemme represents the very best of production: only fine woods selected by Fiemme Tremila for this collection that expresses beauty through the wood species themselves. The processing is essential to respect a raw material capable of exalting itself naturally.
Luci di Fiemme, a collection that tells of the lights of the Dolomites thanks to the Thermowood colouring. Just as the sun's rays light up the mountains, in the same way the warmth of this process brings out its nuances and reflections directly from the wood, for a floor in continuous evolution. Shades are the hallmark of the range, like the lightening of certain woods over time; the cooler variants are obtained with a light natural bleaching process after the normal Thermowood colouring.
Boschi di Fiemme is the collection designed for everyone, under the banner of maximum customisation. Many wood types, nine processes that add up to the possibility of choosing the size of the planks to make each floor a 'made-to-measure' project. In Echi di Fiemme the larch, authentic and traditional wood, is the protagonist of a collection in which it acquires a new voice through contemporary tones and effects.
With Mani di Fiemme the larch, oak and American walnut planks tell the story of craftsmanship through minutely worked and hand-finished surfaces. The touch of Mani di Fiemme is expressed through two special processes: Antique Finish, which with small irregularities recreated artfully gives a pleasant lived-in effect to the wood, and Hand-Written, which with skill and precision ennobles knots and grains in every single plank.
