Natuzzi Italia

Santeramo in Colle / Italy

The internationally renowned Made-in-Italy ambassador, Natuzzi, specialises in sofas, armchairs and furniture. Founded in Matera in 1972 by Pasquale Natuzzi, Natuzzi Salotti S.r.l. focused initially on the handcrafted production of leather sofas. In 1973, Natuzzi moved to Santeramo in Colle in the province of Bari, beginning a fortunate trajectory that would transform the small workshop into an international group. Determined and visionary, Pasquale Natuzzi pursued his goal of making a niche product like the handcrafted leather sofa accessible to as many people as possible. The quality of the raw materials combined with a modern and attractive design led to the success of Natuzzi sofas, which, from the 1980s on, furnished mainly homes in America. In 1993, the company was listed on Wall Street. Soon Natuzzi began to collaborate with internationally renowned designers, and the first official acknowledgements started to arrive. In 2014, the Re-vive armchair, one of the catalogue's most iconic and innovative products, designed by Formway Design, received prizes in New Zealand and Israel. The Ergo collection, designed by Ross Lovegrove, won the prestigious 2019 Red Dot Award. That same year, the Furrow sofa, designed by Marcel Wanders, was selected for the ADI Compasso d'Oro. Over the years, the founder has received numerous career-achievement awards. Today, in addition to sofas and armchairs, Natuzzi has expanded its catalogue to include furnishings and accessories, pursuing the goal of total interior design in the residential sector. In 2018, Pasquale Natuzzi Jr. became creative director.

Natuzzi sofas and armchairs, the new design collections

Natuzzi boasts over forty years of experience in the sector, with sofas and armchairs at the heart of the catalogue. Every item is made from top-quality materials, from wood frames to padding and upholstery. Leather has always been the Natuzzi trademark. It is available in the Natural family, which enhances the natural variations of the leather grain, veining and colour. Protecta features an invisible protective film. The new catalogue, evocatively entitled The circle of harmony-live the transition, presents collections with powerful aesthetics inspired by Mediterranean atmospheres, designed by such creatives as Marcel Wanders, Elena Salmistraro, Marcantonio, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Patrick Norguet and Formafantasma. The new releases include the Apulo collection with leather or hide upholstery; the elegant and striking Timeless modular corner sofa, with a symmetrical sinuous shape; Eupholia, a modular system with a light and minimalist design; and the beautiful Ensis swivel armchair with footrest, part of the Posidonia collection, together with the Calilla reclining sofa. The striking models with wood bases include the Sohay sofa bed, designed by Mauro Lipparini, and the three-seater Block sofa, designed by Sabine Marcelis.

From leather sofas to furniture, the latest from Natuzzi

Beds are a must for a company specialising in the production of upholstered furniture. Among the new additions is Patrick Norguet's Ema bed in the Poly collection, which rests on a high headboard, as dictated by the latest trends, and two slender feet, giving the impression of suspension. Lightness and soft lines also characterise the Nanà chair or the Node acoustic partition. Important innovations also concern tables, like the oval table with a Gutta marble top in Massimo Iosa Ghini's Sinuosa collection. One of the overriding goals clearly indicated by art director Pasquale Natuzzi Jr. is multi-functionality which has been masterfully interpreted by Elena Salmistraro in the Posidonia collection. In addition to the Ensis armchair and Calilla sofa, the collection includes the wall-hung or floor-mounted Anemonia mirror, the textile Lophelia bookcase-floor lamp, the Ciambotte steel trays, and the Cliona portable LED table lamp with USB charger, whose shape is reminiscent of a succulent plant or an old-fashioned candle holder. The Natuzzi catalogue also proposes lighting solutions by Marcel Wanders like the Dami lamp collection, inspired by traditional glass wine demijohns, and the Ding Dong lamp collection, with bell-shaped lampshades. ...
