16/11/2017 - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Snoopy, created in 1967 by the Castiglioni brothers and one of the most iconic and ironic table lamps in the history of design, Flos has produced a Limited Edition of 1700 numbered pieces.
The special edition brings back to light the first design created for Snoopy, preserved at the Achille Castiglioni Foundation, which differs from the version found in the catalogue for the elegant matt black embossing powder finishing of its unmistakable snout-shaped reflector.
All other details remain identical to the traditional model, as does the cylindrical base made from precious veined white marble with a thick crystal glass disc fixed to it and the three cooling holes that resemble a bowling ball grip.
The marble base, that originally housed the on/off switch and an electronic dimmer to adjust the brightness of the light - a very innovative feature at that time -, still hosts the same functions through a highly technological touch sensor dimmer.
