05/03/2020 - Featuring open load-bearing metal structures and prefabricated concrete elements, the new Libera kitchen by Elmar has been inspired by modernist architecture of the mid-twentieth century. Conceptualized by the architects Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato, the design reads as a dialogue between various color charts and concrete surfaces.
The collection results from reflections on conviviality and contemporary living. “We wanted a kitchen that relates to people like open architecture, made of transparency and in tune with the surrounding environment: that is to say no opaque elements, rather like a filter that lets light and colors pass,” explain Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato. “Most important to us was the close relationship with the exterior architectural spaces and, in particular, with the vegetation, to thus enjoy coming together and living the outdoors. We had shelves in mind, lighting, the possibility of integrating plants.'
Made for outdoor use, Libera is also perfect for interiors. Simple, compact and functional, it perfectly fits into very different contexts, from rural gardens to industrial lofts or city terraces.
Another important aspect of the project is sustainability. Being prefabricated, the single elements of this modular system are very easy to transport and to assemble. Entirely made of Cementoskin®, a new and fully Eco-sustainable high-performance cement, Libera is the product of a water-based and emission-free production cycle.
