03/08/2020 - In close cooperation with Der Grüne Punkt, Casala has produced a chair series whose seat and back are made from 100% recycled plastic household waste. The production of the Curvy Circular Family chairs is an important project for both Der Grüne Punkt and Casala, in view of the requirements imposed on technology, quality and innovation.
The use of recycled plastics is an important link to save on natural resources, reduce the environmental impact and also ensure the quality and commercial value of contract furniture.
With the recycling of Systalen, Der Grüne Punkt is also a producer of plastic granulates, which offer a truly environmentally friendly alternative for the production of new plastics. The resulting ultra-pure granule is used to produce the seats and backrests of the Casala Curvy Circular chairs, the frames are made of steel with a maximum accepted percentage of recycling and finished with sustainable chrome III. The result: A high-quality and sustainable designer chair with a sturdy frame and shell made from 100% recycled plastic!
So far, the recyclates of Der Grüne Punkt have mainly been used in products for the construction, gardening, household and packaging sectors. Thanks to the development of the highly innovative granulate product line, premium products such as seats and backs of Casala contract furniture can now also be produced. The recyclates are available in various colours, odourless, resistant to mechanical stress and do not discolour.
