A Scandinavian Touch for Duravit
28/04/2020 - Duravit and Cecilie Manz expand the Luv bathroom series with new color combinations and the new Almond Satin Matt finish.
The unusual design of the Luv series combines Nordic minimalism with timeless elegance. Gentle forms follow a stringent geometry. Luv is defined by precise, clear and fine forms and edges. The designer's original vision for this range was a bowl filled with water on a table. The result is a new design language that, both minimalist and elegant, can be interpreted in a highly individual manner.
Nordic style has become a firm fixture in the bathroom since the introduction of the Luv series. Danish designer Cecilie Manz’s minimalist design language invokes the Scandinavian concept of living for a brand-new sense of wellbeing. Carefully conceived materials that also appeal to the sense of touch emphasise the gentle forms and strict geometry. Perfectly harmonized color combinations round off the overall picture.
This is reflected by the new furniture color Almond Satin Matt with its warm yet restrained effect that opens up a wide range of design options. The interplay of light colors and natural shades in green or grey creates sharp contrasts. The washing area can be tuned yet further to individual tastes with the four different console surfaces made from quartz or solid wood. Combined with soft earth tones, they create a calm interior that exudes sheer elegance.
The oval DuraCeram® wash bowls are now available in a total of five sizes (420, 500, 600, 700 and 800 mm) with four different outer surfaces for even greater individualization.
Extra furniture widths have also been added: a fourth new width of 938 mm, optionally with a pull-out compartment or an additional drawer for storage, joins the three existing vanity units.
Luv’s authentic design is continued on the matching mirrors, which have been upgraded and are now larger and have more features. As well as the three existing widths (500, 1200, 1600 mm), a width of 800 mm has been added to accommodate the new vanity unit size. In future all Luv mirrors will also be available in heights of 800 or 1200 mm. The heated mirror and new switching function for colored light can be controlled via the contactless operating panel, enabling continuous adjustment of the light color for the upper illuminated area and ambient light.
Bathtubs in the Luv series are an eye-catching choice for any bathroom, whether as a freestanding model for positioning anywhere in the room or a back-to-wall or corner version with an optional discreetly integrated air whirl system. Mirroring the shape of the wash bowls, their sophisticated aesthetic is a perfect accompaniment to the overall look of the series.
