Archiproducts Design Awards 2019. The Jury’s Ready to Vote!

11/10/2019 - The call for entries for the 4th edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards – the awards dedicated to outstanding achievements in international design – is finally closed. We are now in eager anticipation of the jury’s verdicts, and the names of the ADA 2019winners.

Sustainable solutions, innovative materials, originality and emotional power. Who will be standing on the winner's podium? It's not going to be an easy choice for the jury members.

Glas Italia, Minotti, Porro, Lema, Zanotta, De Padova, Poltrona Frau, Flexform, Alias, Desalto, Andreu World, Magis, Arper, Salvatori, Kristalia, La Cividina, Ton, Piet Boon, MDF Italia, Miniforms, Saba Italia, Blå Station, Buzzispace, Tacchini, Visionnaire, Wiener Gtv, Zeitraum, True Design – to name but a few of the numerous candidates in the categories Furniture, Contract and Office.

This year running again in the category Outdoor are Ethimo, Gandia Blasco, Manutti, Talenti and Tribù, as well as Fermob, Roda and other new international brands.

Among the contenders in the category Kitchen: Boffi, Cesar, Elica, Foster, Gaggenau and, participating for the first time, Alessi.

Large interest also in the category Wall covering, encompassing ceramics, wood and wallpapers: Besana Moquette and Jannelli&Volpi are joining Mutina, Cedit, Alpi, Ceramica Bardelli, Inkiostro Bianco, Elitis, Glamora, Marazzi, Ceramica Sant’Agostino and others in the competition.

Artemide, Davide Groppi, Oluce, Vibia and Luceplan are among the brands that will be running once again in the category Lighting. The list of first time contenders in this category comprises Hollis+Morris, Modular Lighting, Louis Poulsen, Andlight and Brokis.

Agape is just one of this year's new entries in the very popular category Bathroom. Other contending brands, to mention but a few: Ceramica Cielo, Ceadesign, Nic Design, Jacuzzi, Ex.t, Rexa Design, Inbani, Bette, Cocoon, Grohe, Cristina Rubinetterie, MA/U Studio and Geberit.

Candidates in the category Decor: Cc-tapis, Gan, Jaipur Rugs, Society Limonta, l’Opificio, and many others.

Bticino, Schüco, Vimar and Urmet are confirmed to be running in the categories SystemsComponents and Materials. Samsung decided to participate for the first time in the category Building, in addition to Olimpia Splendid, Isolmant, Cordivari, Himacs and Alpac. Mogs, Velux and Schüco will compete in the category Building Envelope.

Assessment and evaluation of each product is now up to the sixty members of the ADA 2019 jury, a multidisciplinary group composed of architects, designers and creative talents from all over the world.

The evaluation process will take place in two steps. Between October 21st and October 25th the ADA 2019 longlist will be published, disclosing those products that have qualified for the final round of the awards and will compete for the title “Winner”. Among the longlisted products the jury will choose this year's awardees. “Winners” of the ADA 2019 will be announced in the first week of November.

The official award ceremony will take place during a gala evening held on November 14th, at Archiproducts Milano, in the heart of the Tortona district, where winners will receive the highly coveted award trophy, designed by the Spanish MUT Design Studio and produced in a limited edition by De Castelli.
