Archiproducts Design Awards: 2019 Winners announced
07/11/2019 - Theawarded selection of products has been revealed for the 4th edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards!

From furniture to lighting, from decor to construction,100 entries have conquered a spot on the podium, defining the status quo of the international creative scene.

The jury – including 60 international architecture studios, communication agencies, journalists, and architecture photographers – assessed over 700 product applications from 400 international brands. The selection was far from straightforward, and recognized research into the best formal and material solutions, as well as the ability to anticipate practical and conceptual scenarios in residential and contract projects.

Confirming their role as a dynamic stage for collective reflection on new tendencies in international design, the ADA also serve once more to describe interesting new collaborations between brand and designer.

As per past editions, Furniture is among the categories which received the most entries.
Piero Lissoni’s signature marks 4 brands in this category: Boffi with the Antibes walk-in closet; Lema with the Ombra chair; Porro with the Pascal table and De Padova with the Flying Landscape sofa.
Six armchairs selected by the jury: N.200, bent wood and Viennese straw designed by Michael Anastassiades for Wiener GTV Design; Oliva, the fabric armchairs designed by Constance Guisset for Zanotta, and Reversivel, created by Martin Eisler for Tacchini; the leather JK Easy Chair signed by Jun Kamahara for Ritzwellthe TIME - 53A / 53B woodenchair from Alias conceived byAlfredo Häberli; and last but not least Angie, the fabric armchair by GamFratesi for Minotti.
Gamfratesi also signs Coupé the leather bed by Poltrona Frau.
As far as the tables, three have been awarded by the jury: Bisel, designed for Glas Italia by Patricia Urquiola, Kobe by Piet Boon and Lean On Me, the marble table of the young Canadian brand, Claste.
Besides the piece proposed by De Padova, two more sofas were awarded: Rendez-Vous by Sergio Bicego for Saba Italia, and Suiseki, designed by Andrea Steidl for La Cividina.
Desalto is once again on the podium this year with the stool Strong, based on a project by Eugeni Quitllet.
Three chairs were selected: Kiyumi Wood AR by Tomoya Tabuchi for AarmetSchaise, signed by Stéphanie Marin for Smarin, and Zeitraum with OKITO PLY by Läufer + Keichel.
Winning also in this category, Rock, the leather dormouse designed by Marc Sadler for da a, and the Cimento® Lido bench by Parisotto + Formenton for Cimento.

The Bathroom category also saw quite a number of awarded pieces. For the first time nominated to the ADA, Agape wins with the Rigo system by Patricia Urquiola.
Great appreciation of the jury for Balnea, the freestanding marble washbasin designed by Elisa Ossino for Salvatori; for the modular system R.I.G. Modules - Bathroom 01 projected by Mikal Harrsen for MA/U Studio and the JP set11.4 faucet by John Pawson for Cocoon.
Two more faucets were granted the title of winner: KOÈ - KOE5 from Geda, designed by Stefano Macchion, and Atrio Icon 3D by Grohe AG.
Four brands win in this category with a vanity unit: Ex.t, with Nouveau, designed by Bernhardt & Vella; Ceramica Cielo, with KYROS, created by Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano; Nic Design with Over, designed by Studio 63; and Objets Architecturaux, with Consolle Lavabo from the Plateforme collection by 50/01.
Catching the jury’s attention also P'tit, the wall-mounted handrinse basin created by Monica Graffeo for Rexa Design; the Arga™ bathtub from the idea of Whynot Design for Jacuzzi®; Black Moon by OLI, the no-touch porcelain flush black plate; and Kore, the shower cabin by Arblu and Iunix of Provex Industrie.

Thirteen winners in the Lighting category. Going back on the podium: Artemide with La Linea, wall and ceiling lamp designed by BIG; Davide Groppi with Chaindelier, Oluce with the pendant lamp Ilo created by David Lopez Quincoces; and Vibia with the linear lighting profile Sticks by Arik Levy.
For the first time nominated for the ADA, Louis Poulsen wins withthe pendant lamp OE Quasi Light  designed by Olafur Eliasson. Arkoslight wins with light brass pendant lamp, Art, created by Rubén Saldaña and Luis Latras. Two more pendant lamps take home the trophy, Puro Eclectic by Brokisrealized on a design by Lucie Koldova and Vale created by Caine Heintzman for ANDlight.
On the podium three table lamps: the brass lamp Giulietta Be T, designed by Enzo Catellani for Catellani & Smith; Tubino Plus by Matteo Thun for Panzeri; and Riflesso, the glass lamp realized by Chiaramonte Marin for Vetreria Vistosi. Last but not least, the adjustable LED spotlight Minude by Modular Lighting Instruments and the Minimal magnetic system by Centrsvet.

2019 ADA Winners in the Kitchen category:
Boffi, awarded also in this category with K6+6, the hideaway stainless steel kitchen designed by Norbert Wangen; Cesar wins with Intarsio - Williamsburg - The 50’s by García Cumini.
Foster seduces the jurywith thefully-fitted sink Milanello; Gaggenau with the Induction built-in glass ceramic hob CX 492 110; Bertazzoni with the electric oven ModernElica with the Gas hob with integrated hood Nikolatesla Flame; and ultimately Steininger with the one-block stainless kitchen Fold inspired by the art of origami.

Glas Italia comes along the Finishes category of the winners list with the glass movable wall Sherazade Patchwork by Piero Lissoni, whose design gets for the fifth time among the winners.
Appointed with the ADA 2019 winner title, in the same category, the unglazed porcelain stoneware tiles by MUTINA with the Primavera collection designed by Barber&Osgerby; Ceramica Bardelli with the Zip collection signed by Meneghello Paolelli Associati, Marazzi with Lume and CEDIT Ceramiche d'Italia with Policroma by Cristina Celestino. Also designed by Celestino the Nebula carpeting from Besana Moquette which rises to the podium in same category.
The only wallpaper awarded by the jury this year is Atrium by Jannelli&Volpi. Tubes Radiatori is the winner in this category with the decorative radiator Step by Step designed by Alberto Meda.

Five brands stand on the podium in the Contract category: Miniforms with the armchair Botera designed by E-ggs; Arper, with the magazine rack Paravan Mood signed by Lievore Altherr; Zilio A&C, with the footstool Arkad realized on a project by NOTE Design Studio; Quinti Sedute with the Amanda chair by Archirivolto; and Nola Industrier with the modular aluminum armchair Cushy designed by Gripner & Hägglund.

In the Outdoor category the winners are: Andreu World with the chair Nuez by Patricia Urquiola; Gandia Blasco withthe armchair Buit by Mayice Studio; Roda with the sofa Eden by Rodolfo Dordoni; Magis with the chair Plato by Jasper Morrison; Talenti with the armchair Panama by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba; Tribù with the table Tao by Monica Armani; Flexform with the armchair Vulcano by Antonio Citterio; MDF Italia with the armchair Neil Twist designed by Jean-Marie Massaud; Fermob with the side table Bebop by Tristan Lohner; höfats with the steel fire basket Bowl; Garda Furniture with the rocking chair Ataman designed by AM Studio and Pratic f.lli Orioli with the bioclimatic pergola Brera P.

Three brands rise on the stage for the Office category: BuzziSpace, oval meeting table BuzziTable designed by Alain Gilles; Impact Acoustic® with the phone boot ChatPod Chat; and Mizetto with metal litter bin / Planter BinThere designed by ADDI.

Unanimously appreciated by the jury for the Décor category,the coffee maker Moka designed by David Chipperfield for Alessi. Awarded in this category four rugs: Feathers designed by Maarten De Ceulaer for cc-tapis, The Pink Building designed by Matteo Cibic for Jaipur RugsBackstitch Busy Brick signed by Raw Edges for GAN, and Sand created by Kristine Five Melvær for Heymat.
Last but not least winning in the decor category Visionnaire, with the glass and brass vase Fauna designed by Sara Ricciardi.

In the Systems, Components and Material category, the jury fell for ARC 03 the ceiling fan by Ceadesign designed by Natalino Malasorti and the metal toggle switch Eikon Exé Vintage by Vimar. Also, winner in this category Bticino, the door connecting video system Classe 100X; Cordivari with the solar thermal panel Sistema Stratos 4S; HI-MACS  with the three-dimensional surface in Solid Surface, HI-MACS® Intense Ultra; Schüco with the building automation system Schüco Building Skin Control (BSC); and Isopan with the roof garden system GreenRoof.

Six winners in the Construction category: appreciated by common assent, the air to water heat pump Adapt by Kronoterm and the ceiling mounted mono-split air conditioning unit CAC - Cassetta 360° by Samsung. Winner in this category also the new Air conditioner without external unit Unico created by Matteo Thun & Partners for Olimpia Splendid; Wall-mounted fan coil unit Art-U by Galletti, and ultimately Alpac, with the air conditioner integrated in the insulating window system Ingenius All Seasons.

In the Building Shell category rise on the podium: Velux Commercial with the glass and steel roof window Step Longlight/Ridgelight; Mogs with the thermal insulation steel patio door Ferrofinestra W50 TB; Alumil with th Aluminium patio door Smartia M630 Phos; and Wicona with the Aluminium pocket sliding window Wicline 75 MAX.

The jury also decided to award Samsung, already selected among the winners of the construction category, as overall winner in the Lifestyle category for the QLED technology of the TV The Serif, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.

The prize-giving event will be hosted on November 14th at Archiproducts Milano showroom, in the heart of Zona Tortona. The winners will receive the ADA trophy designed by the Spanish duo MUT Design and handmade in limited edition by De Castelli.
