19/11/2021 - We are delighted to reveal the winners of the sixth edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards, the annual prize celebrating worldwide design excellence!
The
jury made up of architects, journalists, photographers and creative directors from all over the world assessed over 750 submissions and selected the best proposals.
Functional and original indoor and outdoor furnishings, experimental lighting, finishes, building systems and cutting-edge household appliances all stepped onto the podium.
Particular attention was paid to the workspace. Bolzan Letti, Woodendot, Extremis, Glimakra of Sweden, Et al., Herman Miller, La Cividina, Stellar Works and Vertisol were among the many brands offering versatile furnishings for the office and home.
Winners include Made-in-Italy brands with longstanding corporate histories - Flou, Poltrona Frau, De Padova, Porada, Gallotti&Radice, De Castelli, Boffi, Minotti and Porro – presenting products that reinterpret traditional materials and craft in projects that are contemporary in both form and function.
Riello, Velux, Focus Creations, Mogs, Bticino, Newfloor, Volteco and Schüco were awarded for their high-performance technical solutions for the construction industry.
Numerous international lighting brands received accolades this year: the Japanese Ambientec, the Russian Centrsvet, the Spanish Vibia, the Canadian d'Armes, the Czechs Bomma and Brokis, the Greek On•Entropy as well as the Italians Artemide, Davide Groppi, Luceplan and Martinelli Luce.
In the Bathroom and Finishes sector, designer brands won out. Raw Edges for Alpi, Meneghello Paolelli for Artceram, Parisotto + Formenton Architetti for Ceadesign, Storagemilano for Ceramica Bardelli, Massimo Iosa Ghini for Devon&Devon, David Lopez Quincoces for Zucchetti, Piero Lissoni for Salvatori are just some of the awarded designers.
New to this year's ADAs is the Sustainability Special Mention, an award for products that adhere to a logic based on the circular economy concept. An outstanding jury of experts in eco-design and sustainability awarded brands committed to minimising harmful emissions and environmental impacts throughout their products' life cycles, using sustainable and recyclable materials.
Cotto Etrusco, Quadro Design, ADL, Artemide, Echojazz, Officinarkitettura® and Isolmant are among the manufacturers focused on entirely recyclable materials - primarily steel, ceramics and wood - and environmentally friendly materials like the latest-generation polymers and natural fibres.
Sustainability also means using circular economy production techniques. Duka, Florim Group with Floor Gres and CEDIT, Porro, Mardegan Legno adopt production cycles that reduce emissions and waste to a minimum.
Samsung, Acer, mui Lab, Faema and Beretta optimise life cycles and energy consumption, combining technology, design and performance.
The winners will be presented with a Limited Edition trophy designed by the Spanish studio
MUT Design and produced once again by
De Castelli. This year, the sculptural object plays with the oxidation of metal and the optical illusion of the Möbius strip in an unusual black DeLabré sheet metal finish.
Also confirmed is the designer trophy created by
Salvatori with a design by
Michael Anastassiades. The marble monolith is inspired by the Archiproducts Design Awards logo - this year in an exclusive total black finish.
The 2021 awards ceremony will be held in person again! The celebration is slated for November 25 at Megawatt Court in Zona Tortona in Milan.
The special event dedicated to the 2021 Winners will include an exhibition of some of the winning products as well as interactive installations.
It will be an opportunity to engage brands and designers in short interviews by the Archiproducts editorial staff.
The most voted among the winners of 2021 Archiproducts Design Awards will receive one complimentary press kit distribution courtesy of Archiproducts media partner v2com newswire.
