25/01/2018 - Playful and creative 'scenographic scenes' realized by coloured glasses frame the
Arflex exhibition space at imm cologne 2018, a project designed by the two designers Ellen Bernhardt and Paola Vella.
The screens
Vela create a play of transparencies around a central body, which welcomes the protagonist
Strips, the historic modular sofa designed for Arflex in the late ‘60s by architect
Cini Boeri. The modular system Strips revolutionized the furniture world and belongs to the arflex history: it is certainly one of the most famous products, which immediately won recognition by obtaining the Compasso d’Oro award and is exhibited in different museums in the world, such as for example the Triennale in Milan, in Tokyo, the Moma in New York.
Strips coordinates with the new
Cradle family, composed by armchair and sofa, designed by
Neri&Hu: the pieces are modeled by the rich tradition of the Italian design, well known for its sculptural and audacious forms, both from the modernist sensibility, which requires an honest structural expression. Instead of hiding the structure and trying to make the products rise from the ground, the elegant support elements are themselves the highlights of the model.
Other products of the collection surround and complete the stand: we find, in fact, the inevitable vintage pieces, that continue to seduce and confirm themselves as evergreen in the arflex history.
