Boutique and Lifestyle Hospitality on Show in New York

Boutique Design New York - BDNY from 12-13 November at the Javits Center

13/10/2023 - Boutique Design New York (BDNY), the premier trade show and conference for the hospitality boutique and lifestyle design community, returns to New York on 12-13 November. The annual two-day event facilitates the convergence of interior designers, architects, buyers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, brands, owners and developers with innovative manufacturers of hospitality interior products. The aim is to promote networking, provide inspiration and offer exclusive insights into the latest trends in boutique and lifestyle hotels. BDNY's carefully curated show experience features over 650 exhibitors showcasing product solutions for lodging, restaurants, spa, club, marine and senior lifestyle interiors.

Kevin Gaffney, Group Vice President of Emerald Design Group, a leading developer of dynamic live events and integrated market platforms, is excited about this year's expanded presence and smart, targeted programming for the hospitality design community. He notes that the hospitality industry is flourishing, particularly in boutique and lifestyle hospitality, as more people seek personalised travel experiences. The conference programme includes lectures and thought-provoking discussions with design pioneers, emerging talents and thought leaders. The mix of in-depth discussions and pop-up talks will cover compelling topics such as psychology and neuroaesthetics, best practices from other sectors and New York innovations. In addition, Designed Spaces, conceived by Andaz in collaboration with Host Hotels & Resorts, Otherworld Creative, Within Light Studio; KTGY|SIMEONE DEARY DESIGN GROUP; Rockwell Group; and SH Hotels & Resorts, create gathering spaces throughout the show. And BDNY Meet, an accessible networking platform, facilitates targeted meetings between exhibitors and attendees. BDNY is honored to present state-of-the-art product innovation, of-the-moment talks, and creative solutions throughout the fair,” says Keisha Byrd, Brand Leader, BDNY. “This includes four distinct, experience-driven Designed Spaces, each featuring a unique narrative. It’s all about sparking ideas and looking at boutique and lifestyle design through a different lens."

As part of the show, the Gold Key Awards will be presented to winners in 24 project categories, ranging from eco-conscious hotels and resorts to emerging hotel concepts. The ceremony will include the Judges' So Cool and the coveted Designer of the Year awards, as well as the Boutique 18 and BD Up-and-Coming Hotelier awards.

The BDNY programme concludes with Hospitality Design magazine's 34th annual Platinum Circle Awards gala on Friday 10 November at Gotham Hall in New York. The gala will honour five hospitality leaders for their lifetime achievements: Martin Brudnizki, Martin Brudnizki Design Studio; Ted Carroll, The Carroll Adams Group; Raul Leal, SH Hotels & Resorts; Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Flag Luxury; and Libby Sims Patrick, Sims Patrick Studio. NEWH CEO Shelia Lohmiller will receive the Manfred Steinfeld Humanitarian Award.
