06/11/2020 - Beauty, nature and craftsmanship: Ursula and Patrick L'hoste and their label pulpo have believed in these values since its foundation in 2006 - and they keep finding designers, artists and creative people who share this vision.
2020 was and still is a special year for the German label: Besides various new product releases with renowned designers such as Sebastian Herkner, MUT Design, Ferréol Babin, Visser&Meijwaard and others, the new headquarters in Weil am Rhein, the launch of their own art series – Art Edition No.1 – and the opening of their first showroom are defining moments.
Stylish warehouse with new perspectives
The time has finally come: pulpo has a new headquarter! Located in Weil am Rhein and designed by the founder Patrick L’hoste, the new building includes office space, warehouse, and logistics. For the design, it was important for pulpo to have plenty of space for creative work – flexible and open. The new building impresses with clear lines, a lot of concrete, large window fronts and many works of art from the private collection of the managing directors.
In spring, a wildflower garden will be created to have additional work seating outdoors. The team, which has recently grown significantly, now has enough playing area and can develop further.
Ecstasy in neon
In 2020, artist Samuel Treindl breaks up the border between art and design with his 'Art Edition No. 1' for pulpo and stages the collection by means of 'creative destruction'.
Samuel Treindl made the pulpo icons his own and figured them into sculptural objects by using wax and neon paint. The next catalogs will also be designed in cooperation with artists, watch out.
Playground and design shop in one
On November, 07, 2020 the 'redroom', pulpo's first showroom, opens in Lörrach, Germany. Completely designed in the signal colour red, visitors can dive head first into a world of avant-garde forms and materials.
