04/02/2019 - The new itinerary of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris dedicated to a modern and contemporary design review and designed by Normal Studio has been set up and completed with the Hexaben Large Plus by Bencore.

In the late October this new path, that showcases 70 years of design, has been inaugurated, proposing iconic pieces by Philippe Starck, Roger Tallon and Jean Prouvè, Ettore Sottsass, Enzo Mari and many others reinterpreted in the light of the changes in forms and uses of this last decades. The exhibition has been curated by Eloi Chafai and Jean Francoise Dingjian, founders of Normal Studio.

The concept is clear: to talk about a society that changes its way to relate to objects and their function through design: the exhibition starts from the third floor and develops through six rooms where the pieces are set in an accurate distance with the visitor in order to create a real involvement. The new thematic approach allowed the overlapping of avant-garde movements with postmodernism, creating a new interpretation of the collections and giving the public the tools to understand the history of design. The renovated spaces invite the visitor to explore the rich world of decorative arts through graphic design, fashion, wallpaper, toys, glass objects, furniture and photography, many of which have recently been acquired thanks to the creation of Le Cercle Design 20 / 21 and thanks to private donations. Besides, many of these objects are exhibited here for the very first time.

The originality of the project is also marked by the choice of the Normal Studio to use the Hexaben Large Plus Clear materials to realize the set-up: to create vertical partitions, flooring and some furnishing elements of the exhibition has been chosen this absolutely innovative and designoriented material in the satin version.

The Hexaben panels rhythm and accompany the exhibition itinerary, creating a dynamic but also focused and discreet movement of observation. The chromatic neutrality of the panels emphasize both horizontally and vertically the strong colours of most of the displayed objects. The result is a strong and harmonic balanced presentation.
