As part of the Milan Furniture Fair, the BASF designfabrik® presents the modular shelving system “BUILD” by Movisi in the old “La Posteria” customs hall in the historic quarter of Brera.
Fabriktage 2015: BASF opens “Wunderkammer“ in Milan
On the occasion of BASF’s 150th anniversary, designfabrik® is bringing its “fabriktage” event to the design week in Milano. A surprising installation that puts numerous current material applications into the limelight by means of an optical illusion will be shown. Additionally, experts will be on hand to advise customers on suitable material choices and color trends.

Movisi is back with another set of awesome modular storage which can be compiled and configured to your liking. BUILD can be installed in just a few minutes, and doesn’t require any tools!
A single modular element is the essence of this new shelving system by Movisi. With its unique design and ability to be changed instantly, the BUILD series provides a striking and flexible interior solution. Freestanding or mounted on the wall, BUILD adapts to your needs.
More than a shelf, it also makes for a great partition, display, wall cladding or even a seat. The system is upgradeable and downgradeable and therefore allows unlimited design possibilities. The modules can be arranged in a variety of configurations and still maintain an interior horizontal surface for placing objects:
BUILD is made from 100% recyclable and toxic-free EPP (Expanded Polypropylene), a high-performance plastic foam which is non-toxic, VOC-free, allergy friendly, and 100% recyclable. Because it is 95% air, BUILD is extremely lightweight (only about 700g per module).
A flexible and durable system, BUILD works in the following environments:
- Retail: product displays, wall cladding, back drops;
- Special: ideal for pop-up stores;
- Office: shelving and partitioning;
- Special: ideal for frequent workplace re-designs and, co-working spaces;
