Cersaie 2013: the incredibly realistic proposals of Lea Ceramiche
14/10/2013 - Thanks to its constant readiness to experiment Lea Ceramiche will be presenting new products at the 2013 edition of Cersaie which combine the research of style and innovation. In separate yet adjacent areas in the exhibition stand designed by Diego Grandi, the new collections follow two main themes: the introduction of laminated stoneware with a thickness of 5mm, Slimtech 5Plus and multi materials, the combination of finishes, colours and sizes of different collections, an unusual, surprising mixture with an impressive overall result.

Laminated stoneware with a thickness of 5mm
The most significant novelty is the introduction of the new thickness of 5mm, Slimtech 5Plus, which completes the Laminated Stoneware project of Lea Ceramiche. It is now possible to use this product in new areas: from commercial and technical spaces subject to intensive wear & tear, such as shopping malls, airports, public sanitary areas and the lobbies of public buildings. The new thickness allows new surface treatment processes, reconfirming the constant evolution of Slimtech and the quest for increasingly advanced technical properties. The greater thickness makes it possible to achieve surface treatments such as mirror polish, multi-level engraving and different material finishes and textures, which were until now unthinkable with the thickness of 3.5mm.

Slimtech 5Plus is presented for the first time in the wood-effect version: Wood-Stock Slimtech is the new collection available in 6 colours (snow wood, nut wood, cream wood, honey wood, vintage wood and coffee wood) and 4 new sizes (33x300cm; 20x200cm; 20x150cm and 20x100cm), with astounding texture and visual effects. Large modular sizes, a new finish which appeals to an increasingly wide and diversified public; new experiments on ceramics which open up to new and more and more options of use, such as in the contract sector. Technology and beauty which complete the range of the most innovative slim line ceramic produced in recent years.

A more detailed observation of the evolution of Slimtech can be gained at the Lea Ceramiche stand during the Cersaie exhibition. One section will in fact be fully dedicated to the company's history over the past 10 years. A passionate, detailed information chart which winds its way along an extensive wall through the stand highlights the evolution of slim line ceramic slabs from a chronological, technological, aesthetic point of view, in addition to advertising images. Samples of the collections launched on the market over the years (Slimtech: Mauk, WavesStudies in Gouache), images of the most spectacular exhibition displays over time (AAVV Autori Vari per l'Abitare, Twirl, Slim Hammam) and of important projects carried out using ultra-thin material make the exhibition even more impressive.

This account is completed with suggestive mini-settings which convey possible applications of the Slimtech to visitors, its traditional use (on floors and walls) but also unusual product applications, such as the creation of wash basins and bathroom containers. Slimtech becomes a furnishing accessory system which is easy to cut and apply, guarantees durability, resistance, hygiene and sustainability, together with a decisively appealing appearance.

Wood-effect porcelain stoneware: 11mm
Yet a further novelty regards the extension to the wood-effect range in the traditional 11mm thickness which is currently available in 3 different collections. Whilst Bioessenze, the first range launched several years ago, offers modules in a range of classic shades which are more reminiscent of the natural material, Bio Plank Microban® with an anti-bacterial barrier, launched last year, stands out due to its unusual, more contemporary colours and a finish which is decisively more textured, which resembles a wood effect with more sophisticated finishes. Bio Timber was launched this year, thus completing and enriching the two collections already inserted in the Lea catalogue with a thickness of 11mm. Available in 4 colours (oak patinato chiaro, oak patinato scuro, oak provenzale and oak grigio scuro, to resemble the different shades of natural oak), measuring 20x120cm and 15x120cm, Bio Timber confirms the readiness of the company to carry out in-depth research and reproduce different textures and finishes to meet all possible style demands.

Marble-effect porcelain stoneware. Thickness: 11mm and 3.5mm
Still with regard to the novelties of 2013 by Lea Ceramiche, the launch of two new collections in marble-effect porcelain stoneware respond to a clear, increasingly extensive market demand. The tendency to reproduce a natural, precious material with porcelain stoneware such as marble is reaching almost absolute points of perfection, as more and more advanced processes are improved further. Ceramic acquires the prestige of this antique stone by delicate vein markings which are perfect and have the same texture, luminosity and elegance of the most prestigious excavated marble with the technical and functional properties of stoneware.

Origini, the new collection with an anti-bacterial barrier Microban® is presented in 3 different shades (white, beige and light grey) and in two thicknesses: in the traditional 11mm thickness in 4 basic sizes (60x120; 30x120cm; 60x60cm and 30x60cm) and in the slim line version Slimtech 3Plus, in a thickness of 3.5mm and oversize formats (50x150cm; 33,3x100cm; 100x100cm and 300x100cm). Slimtech Origini 3Plus stands out due to the number of materials used and the decorations. To match the finishes and colours of the Slimtech collections, drawing on the modules of the Mauk series, trapezium and diamond-shaped decorations are proposed in a new light, resulting in formal elegance with a strong impact. Origini goes to complete the existing ranges of marble-effect tiles in the Lea catalogue: Athena, Kalos and Dreaming. The latter is presented in the new colour variant Bianco Statuario, made even bolder and brighter thanks to the new lux finish which exalts and amplifies the value of its greyish veins.

Type-32 design by Diego Grandi
The new products are completed by the new collection by Diego Grandi, Type-32. On a background of laminated stoneware, Slimtech 5Plus, with a wood-effect, the designer has produced an impressive graphic pattern in 8 different shades to produce endless combinations and an original and unusual variant for decorated floorings.
